These are from a lace book, and i have used a brush and ink and picked out the details, this is how i got the idea for the Notre Dame in blocks..
Looking at Notre Dame, i found that the details that i picked out looked a lot like the patterns within Lace, and there are an unbelievable variety of different patterns within lace!! Below i have used ink again and made up some design sheets with my drawings...
Above is a pattern of lace i picked out of a book which is around A5, the detail is all there, but when i did it A1 scale (below) it made a suprising different, the change of scale has made it gone from looking like lace, to an architectural building. (Which a few people have mistaken it for)
As i have been to Paris, i visited the Sacre Ocour, it is one of the most beautiful churches i have seen and been you. The atmosphere is immense inside and as it is built on a hill the view of Paris is just amazing. Alongside the Notre Dame i have also used this as an inspiration, here i have done the main areas in watercolor paint and then with a dark brown fine liner gone back into it with detail...
Mono-printing again....Just a simple version, quite like the colour contrast! Its on a dyed cotton.
Just a couple of sketchbook pages. These are also some samples i did....the left page is a repeat screen print i did, and with be using the same idea in my final prints as i like the idea of repeat pattern in rows, the right side page is a mono-print that i cut out and bonderwebbed onto felt!
Again this is more mono-printing that i have cut out and bonderwebbed onto different fabric!
